Sex abuse lawyer to sue Diocese of Clogher

THE DIOCESE of Clogher is to be sued in the US by clerical sex abuse specialist, lawyer Jeff Anderson, in connection with allegations of child sexual abuse in the early 1980s by a former Clogher priest.

Announcing the formation of a new London-based law firm, set up in partnership with solicitor Ann Olivarus, Mr Anderson said yesterday that the firm’s first joint case would be taken in Minnesota against a retired priest from the Diocese of Clogher.

The priest, now in his 80s, is alleged to have been a serial abuser who molested children in Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s and then in the US from the 1980s. In the case in question, taken in the US because the “John Doe plaintiff” is an American citizen, Mr Anderson is likely to argue the Diocese of Clogher is guilty of fraud because it sent the priest to a US diocese, despite knowing of his extensive history of child molestation in Ireland.

Former pastor, Daniel L. Monk, found guilty of sexual abuse

NEWARK -- Despite attempts to delay, a 47-year-old former pastor was found guilty Wednesday of having sex with a 16-year-old congregant.

Daniel L. Monk, last known address 1025 Kelly Drive, Hebron, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of two counts of sexual battery, both third-degree felonies, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a first-degree misdemeanor. He could face up to 10 years in prison and a $21,000 fine for the offenses.

Between June and September, Monk had sex with a 16-year-old girl who was a congregant at Soul's Harbor Pentecostal Church, 12180 Lancaster St., Millersport, at her Hebron residence, Licking County Assistant Prosecutor Dan Huston said.

Monk told police he had counseled the girl before becoming a father figure ...

Pope John Paul II Closer to Sainthood, Though Sex Abuse Critics Disagree

Vatican experts have attributed a miraculous healing to the intercession of the late Pope John Paul II, a ruling that appears to push the beloved Polish pontiff a crucial step closer to sainthood even as criticisms of his lengthy reign have mounted since his death in 2005.

A leading Vatican-watcher, Andrea Tornielli of the Italian daily Il Giornale, reported this week that medical and theological experts with the Vatican congregation charged with overseeing the canonization process have affirmed that a French nun was cured of Parkinson's disease -- an affliction similar to the one that claimed John Paul's life -- and there was no medical explanation.

The experts at the Congregation for the Causes of Saints determined that the cure was a miracle and resulted from the nun's prayers for the intercession of John Paul. Cardinals and bishops on the committee are to meet in mid-January to vote on the report from the experts before sending it to Pope Benedict XVI for final approval, and no delay is expected. Church policy decrees that two verified miracles are required before someone's sainthood is formally confirmed

Catholic Property Sold for 10 Million: These Are The Fruits of Liberalism

[Burlington Free Press] The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington has completed the sale of its headquarters at 351 North Ave. to Burlington College for $10 million to help pay for the recent settlement in about two dozen sexual abuse lawsuits involving priests in Vermont.

The diocese and the college finished signing the final paperwork late Friday, according to a statement from the Most Rev. Salvatore R. Matano, bishop of the statewide diocese.

With the sale of the central administration building, the diocesan offices will move into leased space at 55 Joy Drive in South Burlington at the end of May. The property is owned by Pizzagalli Properties and has been offered “at a very reasonable rate,” Matano said in a two-page statement. The property abuts Rice Memorial High School, one of two Catholic high schools left in Vermont.

Head of Belgian Church Shocks the Worldings: Comparing Victims of Pederasty to Flood Victims

Editor: We've been very defensive of Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard as he's one of the best things that has happened to Belgian society in  years. Expectantly, the crocodile tears shed by the same media that defended Roman Polanski will now raise an angry fist at the Archbishop.  It does this because it despises the Catholic things he defends.  Frankly, it's the same furor of anger that has met the Holy Father who has been pointing an accusing finger at the permissive elements in society that have promoted child sexual abuse, like Kinsey, substantial portions of Belgium's elite society, and all of those academics who've striven for the last decades to erase the idea of good and evil from the minds of people everywhere.

The following is an article from Catholic Church Conservation:

Le chef de l'Eglise belge choque en comparant pédophilie et inondations

The head of the Belgian Catholic Church, Andre-Joseph Leonard shocked MPs on Wednesday saying that the Belgian Church could compensate victims of pedophile priests, just as it has shown "solidarity with flood victims ".

"The Catholic Church could freely participate with all other sectors of society in the creation of solidarity funds, not because it is legally obliged, but because there is a duty of solidarity with all victims, not only of floods and epidemics, but also sexual abuse, "said the Primate of Belgium.

He spoke in particular cases where the abuser is dead or the actions under statute of limitations, for other cases being for him the responsibility of Justice.

Holy Father Addresses the Curia

… We were all the more dismayed, then, when in this year of all years and to a degree we could not have imagined, we came to know of abuse of minors committed by priests who twist the sacrament into its antithesis, and under the mantle of the sacred profoundly wound human persons in their childhood, damaging them for a whole lifetime.

Vatican Speaker Denies Accusations Against Benedict XVI

Hamburg "Spiegel" cited in its Monday edition the supposedly incriminating document in the case of a pedophile clergyman.

Vatican (kath.net/KAP) Vatican Speaker Federico Lombardi has rejected the allegation, there is a new one, that an incriminating document in the case of a pedophile clergyman from his time as Archbishop of Munich.  There are no new findings in this matter, said Lombardi this Saturday for journalists in Rome.  He admonished a report from the Archdiocese of Munich, and also made his earlier statement on the case of the Munich chaplain from the March of this year.

The German periodical, "Der Spiegel" reported in its edition appearing Monday from a letter of the year of 1980 in which a chaplain moved from the Diocese of Essen to Munich because of child abuse, and then had been shifted in an assignment  as pastor by then Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger. The chaplain had been assigned in this letter and in the parish newsletter, from which it also happens, said that he had a lot of contact in a ministerial capacity with adolescents and children, this is according to information from the earlier Munich community of the clergyman.

The Archdiocese of Munich made it clear that the current Pope had no knowledge of the Essen Chaplain's reassignment to a pastoral role in Munich.  Under Ratzinger's initiative it was agreed upon in 1980,  to restrict the chaplain to a rectory, so that he could receive therapy, disclosed the Archdiocese.  Deviating from this decision the current Vicar General Gerhard Gruber had in any case attached the man to a Munich pastoral care.  In the mean time, the retired Gruber had assumed full responsibility for this decision.

Cardinal Schönborn Downplays the Blogosphere

On the way to a Turning Point in Religious Instruction

Editor: The Danube Cardinal may discount the blogosphere, but one of his own Auxiliary Bishops doesn't entirely agree with him about the quality of religious instruction. Considering recent reports about Youth Programs it's very difficult to agree with him that there is only room for "a little improvement".

Cardinal Schönborn honored the job of teachers of religion and said: "I stand behind them. It can't be denied that even in religious instruction there is need of improvement and that critical voices must be taken seriously.

Vienna [kath.net/PEW/red] The subject of religion is, beside all criticism, a "completely central theme of society", exclaimed Cardinal Christoph Schönborn in the St Stephen's Cathedral with a Mass for religious instructors. In the last years the theme of religion has become significantly more central. The Viennese Archbishop is reported as saying: " This belongs to the minds of many people much more in daily life than we perhaps ourselves realize, even when it doesn't take the form of a church community." It brings to mind what the German Bundechancellor Angela Merkel said a little while ago: Not to talk too much about the dominant Christian culture, rather to live the Christian life authentically and happily.

Religious instruction has, for this reason a "much more certain place than is often supposed". At the same time one may not himself be satisfied with a "banal civil religion", "which is always appropriate and never offends anyone." The challenge of the Gospel is today even more looked for, said Cardinal Schönborn. At the same time the Viennese Archbishop thanked the religious instructors for their service -- "irrespective of the comments of some Internet Blogs". The religious instructors have overcome or simply lived through many difficulties in the last years. "I stand behind you", said Cardinal Schönborn. That isn't going to cease and that even in religious instruction there's room for improvement and that critical voices must be taken seriously.

Then he continued with a "word of encouragement", as the Viennese Archbishop put it and recalled simultaneously what in the first half of the discussion about abuse has irrupted in the Church. Things have gone poorly for him personally in this situation, but the religion instructors in the classroom are still much more direct with the questions which critically confront them. In the scholastic area it has certainly been handled circumspectly in past years, to avoid [talking about] abuse. At the same time it is excusable that Waltraud Klasnic -- who is 65 these days -- who has undertaken the task, to lead the "independent victim protection tribunal", says Cardinal Schönborn [Editor: This tribunal system, which is meant to offer a buffer to the issue of homosexual abuse, is often another stonewall, and predictably a cynical legal ploy to indemnify the Church from further abuse claims. Indeed, one of the advisers on this tribunal is even accused of abuse himself" It resembles in many ways other tribunals, like the one established in Collegeville, supposedly a pioneering event, at the beginning of the abuse crisis in earnest in the late nineties, which none the less has been ineffective in keeping homosexual predators out of circulation, and has even allowed the perpetrators to cover their tracks as was the case with Father Francisco Schulte. Documents on this man have disappeared.]

KLARTEXT: Auxiliary Bishop Andreas Laun promoted the reform of religious instruction: and it did not occur as it should have. Poorly formed, sometimes even not really believing teachers. The evil arose from the level of education of the teacher.

Victims of Sex Abuse to March on the Vatican

By Philip Pullella

ROME (Reuters) - Victims of abuse by Roman Catholic priests will try to march on the Vatican on Sunday despite the lack of a police permit, to demand the Church do more to protect children and hold abusers accountable.

Bernie McDaid and Gary Bergeron, founders of www.survivorsvoice.org, told a news conference on Friday they would start a petition drive to ask the United Nations to declare systemic paedophilia a crime against humanity.

"We are not crippled. We are injured people who are willing to talk about it now. The guilt and the shame is in the cover-up," said McDaid, who become one of the first abuse victims to meet with Pope Benedict in Washington in 2008.

Sleazy Republican Senate Contender Rides Abuse Bandwagon in Wisconsin

Editor: Even cheesy Republicans are getting into the game by aligning themselves with the professional victims' group SNAP. Courtesy of Badger Catholic, here.

DE PERE — U.S. Senate candidate Ron Johnson has tried to comply with an advocacy group's request by urging the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay to be open in its investigation of alleged pedophile priests, but members of the group say that isn't enough.

The Republican asked the diocese on Wednesday to be transparent regarding decades-old allegations of child abuse among priests and particularly the Rev. John Patrick Feeney, who was sentenced to prison in 2004 for molesting two brothers in Freedom.

Johnson used to serve on the diocese's financial council and in January testified in Madison against the Child Victims Act — a Wisconsin bill aimed at making it easier for childhood sex abuse victims to sue their attackers — on behalf of the diocese, among other groups. Johnson's statements focused on the financial impact of the bill on nonprofits that serve minors.

Celibacy is not the Ballast of History

Editor: Archbishop Marx got his head handed to him when he attempted to destroy the career and reputation of the Abbot of the Traditional Monastery of Ettal. Now the embattled Archbishop offers some hopeful words more in line with his the original assessment of the man as a conservative.

Germany. [kreuz.net] the first half year of this year was the worst time of his life. Archbishop Reinhard Marx of Munich confessed this during an interview with the regional newspaper 'Munnich Merkur'. The Archbishop had been advised like a forensic expert "in a bitter decision" during the abuse hysteria. [When he tried to railroad the Abbot and Prior of Ettal on charges of Sex Abuse] At the same time he held it absurd, that it's always promoted: "now the priesthood must introduce women and celibacy must be abolished." That is superficial and will go nowhere. Celibacy is no "superfluous ballast of history" and must be rediscovered like a priceless treasure.

The Connection Between Liturgical Abuse and Child Abuse

The Clerical Sex Abuse Capital of the World is Also the Liturgical Abuse Capital. It all started here with one of the greatest liturgical abusers, Father Virgil Michel and his notorious companion, the Faustian, crypto-Marxist Eric Gill.

In discussing the connection between clerical sexual and liturgical abuse, a connection we've been making for a while, it would be encouraging if these people would also begin making the fateful connection of sexual abuse with all forms of pedagogical abuse, including Modernism. In his blog yesterday, Father Z cites MommyWrites, discussing a causal connection between Child Abuse and bad liturgy. Bad liturgy is a component of modernism and to confirm this in a very direct way is to talk about the home of bad Liturgy, which is Collegeville, Minnesota and its flagship quarterly, Worship which was originally Orate Fratres. The Magazine involved a collaboration between the Liturgical Revolutionary (and abuser), Father Virgil Michel and the notorious Eric Gill.

Eric Gill envisioned bad liturgy before most people had experienced it. People in Minnesota were being experimented upon in the 1930s as this blog proves, notably under the tutelage and pernicious influence of Collegeville.

Some who are familiar with Gill's work, will notice early wreckovations, which were fairly common already in the 1930s when Gill was at large:

Of course, you might say, what has interior design got to do with Liturgy? Quite a lot actually, these designs are meant to, if they don't in fact accomplish this, accompany what was in the Pre-conciliar time, the liturgical abuse of saying Mass facing the people.

It's important also to mention the connection, because while Virgil Michel was editor of Orate Fratres with Eric Gill's contribution of the cover art for the first edition; they are both Liturgists and designers in their own right and had passed their legacy to men like Frank Kazmarcek OSB(who is not an abuser of children, but of buildings), Jerome Tupa OSB (who stands accused as a homosexual pederast and is a "painter") and Dunstan Moorse OSB, who is the current Editor of what is now "Worship" produced at Collegeville.

Morse is himself a liturgical abuser and an abuser of children. He was credibly accused by a large number of boys and yet retained his position at St. John's Abbey and despite being on "restriction" travels quite freely throughout the world.

the more recent Editor, Father Dunstan Morse is a credibly accused child abuser.

Journalists See "Systematic Attacks" on Pope Ratzinger

The Vatican Reporters Tornielli and Rodari analyze the attacks on this Pontificate: it is typical that the attacks against the Pope occur after important Vatican decisions.

Rome (kath.net/KAP) Pope Benedict XVI is, according to the view of Andrea Tornielli and Paolo Rodari, beset by attacks from the International Media. There were "negative attacks" against everything that the Pope did or said; his visits and his initiatives were pushed to the the limit, write the Vaticanists in their book "Attack on Ratzinger" (Attacco a Ratzinger)which appeared last Wednesday in Italy. A conspiracy or a united regime is not behind this, warn these authors, even when there are thoroughly common interests of groups or currents, wanting to discredit the Pope and to weaken the moral authority of the Catholic Church.

Tornielli (Il Giornale) and Rodari (Il Foglio) analyze the great themes and discussions of conflict against this Pontificate by this "Piemme" (Italian publisher of non-fiction books) published 315 page thick book. They begin with the Regensburg Address and the "politically incorrect" Mohamed-Citation, discuss the appointment and resignation of the controversial Warsaw Archbishop Stanislav Wieglus and the Motu Proprio for wider permission of the extraordinary form of the Mass. They then go to the [sic] part-rehabilitation of the Traditionalist Bishops and the "case" of the [sic] Holocaust-denier [Bishop] Williamson.

They elaborately summarize the newly rekindled pederast scandal since the beginning of the year in 2010. It is apparent that the attacks against the Pope are often initiated after important Vatican decisions. The most recent pederast scandal occurred a few weeks after the recognition of the heroic virtue of Pius XII, suggest the Authors.

The denunciations and attacks against the Pope had multiplied beyond a doubt, write the Authors in their forward. Once one misquotes the Pontifex in an unclear manner of expression, occasionally errors in communication, one other time one understands that the Curia was insufficiently coordinated or confounded by unqualified colleagues gaggling about them.

One thesis of the Author: The Pope is followed by good, close and loyal colleagues. But when things get dodgy, Pope Benedict XVI. becomes "objectively alone". It gives the team, who are often concerned, that certain problems do not happen without sufficient consideration to efficient reactions. The attacks came mostly from the outside, sometimes even from the Church itself; and were followed by a deficient system of crisis management.

Vatican Rebuke for Munich Archbishop Marx: Ettal Abbot and Prior Exonerated

The Vatican exonerated the earlier Abbot of Ettal and rebukes the Diocese of Munich: Abbot Barnabas has done everything, what was required by the situation. The naming of a successor is not to happen.

Berlin/Munich (kath.net/KNA) A Vatican Investigative Commission has, says the newspapers "Die Welt" and "Muenchner Merkur", (Friday)that the resigned management of the Benedictine Cloister Ettal has been exonerated of the abuse scandal. Both papers refer to a corresponding letter of the Roman Cardinal Prefect Franc Rode, who directs for the Monks the competent section in the Vatican. As the papers report, there had been an Apostolic visitation in the Cloister, that resigned order members had made no error in their handling of the Ettal sexual and physical abuse.

Neither Abbot Barnabas Bögle nor Prior Maurus Krass would have neglected a prescribed requirement to report. The Abbot did everything, "which was required by the situation". A renewed election of both ministers from their earlier offices is not required.

The Abbot and the Prior had been accused, that they had not reported to the competent Archdiocese of Muenchen-Freising in 2005 when they became aware of a new sexual abuse. According to the information the papers have the expert opinion of the Vatican is not associated with that of the view of the Archdiocese of Munich.

The letter from Rome had been delivered by Wednesday to the Cloister of Ettal, reported "Muenchner Merkur" further. Otherwise it would have been necessary to select a name Abbot by 31 July. The Monastic Congregation has appointed this directive. From the Cloister no one has wanted till now to discuss any of the new developments. There should be a press release on Friday.

The report brings a new rebuke for the ambitious Archbishop Marx at the same time in "Die Welt". There have been for a long while already critics of the administration of the Archiepiscopal Chair. So it was already made known in March, that the resignation of Barnabas and Maurus was to take place on the ground of a false accusation.

Australian Priest at Large on Cardinal Pell's Watch

The priest was working in the Diocese of Newcastle, a suffragen Diocese of Sydney which belongs to Cardinal Pell. Despite a conviction in 2000, the priest was working for the Diocese filling in on weekends and working at a library for priests, as one of the formers students reported to Broken Rites:

In 2005, when Denham was aged about 62, Broken Rites ascertained that he was then working on week-days in the Sydney library of a religious order of priests. But what was he doing at weekends, when there was often a need for a relieving priest to do church services?

Despite the lack of media coverage, Broken Rites still received occasional phone calls or emails from former students or parishioners inquiring about Denham.

In November 2005, Tim (the victim from St Pius X Catholic High School in the 2000 court case) phoned Broken Rites again. He said he had learned that Denham was currently in Sydney's "supply" pool of priests who were available to do casual work as a relieving priest at weekends. Tim contacted the church's Professional Standards office in Sydney and its counterpart in Newcastle, and both these offices confirmed that Denham was working in the "supply pool". Tim told Broken Rites: "This is an alarming situation."
[link here]

Certainly, Cardinal Pell wasn't on hand in the late seventies and early eighties when this homosexual was abusing adolescents in his care, but in the years after he was made Archbishop of Sydney, he did nothing to prevent this man from working in areas, like where a weekend associate Presider might have access to children. One might wonder why he was still on the rolls of the Diocese at all. Priests who've been only guilty of wanting to say the Immemorial Rite of the Mass have gotten far worse treatment than this individual did.

Considering the gravity of his crimes and the validity of the accusations against him, you'd think he could have been brought to justice sooner. Perhaps it's just as well that Cardinal Pell wasn't given the post on the Congregation of Bishops.

We'd like to think that lapses such as the above, POSSIBLE benign neglect let's call it, and his toleration for Sydney's "Gay Mass", as well as his failure to discipline Dom Alcuin Reid were factors in his non-appointment.

There seems to be a pattern involved here combined with various heterodox statements and what might be considered criminal lapses in professional and pastoral conduct.

Mixa locutus -- causa finita?

The actual "Mixa File" is still not closed -- No clarification of the German Bishops' clarification -- Why the diocese has clearly the directives of the German Bishop's Conference.

Augsburg (kath.net) Even after the clarifications of the German Bishops Conference on Tuesday and the letter from Bishop Walter Mixa this Wednesday, the Causa Mixa is still leaving a number of questions unclear.

One question remains in connection with the clarification of the German Bishops Conference (GBC), which on Tuesday had affirmed the alleged "Secret Dossier" on Mixa. It says: "They affirmed that the documents and accusations against him in April 2010 had been passed on to Rome. Pope Benedict XVI acted upon this and accepted Bishop Mixa's resignation."

It is completely unclear on the one hand, if the accusation is to be seen as true, if there has been an orderly investigation and if it on the other hand, there is a causal connection between the Pope's decision and the accusation. One kath.net- inquiry to this theme led to Matthias Kopp, the speaker for the GBC, who gave the following answer: "Please understand that I can't answer your questions as if they were represented in a text of the presiding Bishops today."

It is certain that in the past week not one of the high-ranking Bishops of Germany knew of the "Secret Dossier" as kath.net was aware. Clearly, only the closest circle of the German Bishops Conference, some of the members of the Diocese of Augsburg and the Archbishop of Munich were privy.

It is as good as in the hand that the internal Church correspondence from this circle was directing the FAX and the South German Times. Bishop Mixa himself clearly knew nothing of this correspondence.

"That the press has access to the archive of the Vatican or the Papal Nuncio, is for the time being improbable. Therefore the source is especially nebulous like the reported occurrence," explained Mixa-Attorney Gerhard Decker on Sunday to kath.net. Even in the 3-sided-correspondence of Bishop Mixa to the Bishops Congregation, where all of these accusations are theoretically arising, it is not certain.

For more confusion yesterday as members of the Augsburg Diocesan administration and by Bishop Walter Mixa approved a "joint clarification" in a passage. "The Diocese will seek, while a final decision for the successor to the Bishop's office is not known, a temporary home for Bishop Emeritus Dr. Mixa. A confirmation is being sought with the Bavarian Bishops per their clarification of the current day." An explanation of the Bavarian Bishops is till now not forthcoming.

It is exiting that on the beginning of July that Bishop Mixa and Pope Benedict will meet. It's somewhat absurd in this relation to point to #3 of the joint clarification: "the invitation of the Holy Father to a meeting in Rome with Bishop Emeritus Dr. Mixa will happily proceed; his resignation and his circumstances will not be the subject of this discussion."

What the Pope will discuss with Bishop Mixa no one knows and whoever knows the Pope knows that he will surely not let himself be limited. How should this resignation with all its open questions not be a topic? It is clear from the 3-page-letter of Bishop Mixa to Rome, that this will be the motive for his visit.

Mixa's criticisms of the instigation of his colleagues stand out in the room like before: "It should have been brotherly. I should have been advised of a leave till all the accusations were thoroughly investigated. Instead they hurried to the Pope and showed the so-called abuse case like a trump, which de facto consisted of not more than six hand-written sentences of a highly dubious, scribbled memo.", he said to "Welt" a few days ago.

Even high-ranking Church officials of the Diocese of Augsburg refrain from criticism. They have, in the matter of the supposed abuse case about Bishop Mixa, clearly not followed the corresponding guidelines of the German Bishops Conference.

It is clear, that the "educational abuse" was already apparent to the Eichstaetter Pastoral Associate L. already on the 25th of March 2010 in Augsburg. In conjunction with the directives of the German Bishops Conference: "The accredited agent researches the circumstances and is the contact person for the law enforcement authorities."

Accordingly, the accredited agent of the Diocese of Augsburg, i.e. Cathedral Vicar Heinrich hasn't researched this. He has not to-date sought any contact with the suspected victim.

Even in another point the Diocese of Augsburg has clearly violated their own guidelines. The indifference to the complaint was a serious break of the valid directives on the part of the Diocese of Augsburg, as it states: "every complaint or claim of suspicion will be thoroughly investigated. Immediately after becoming aware of suspicion or an incident, the responsible party must commence investigating.
He conducts an interview with the accused, upon which he consults a lawyer. A protocol is to be followed during the interview, for which the responsible party is obliged to follow. With the (presumptive) victim respective his legal guardian will be contacted. According to the protocol, the incident will be assessed and established, how the victim is best to be helped and how to further proceed."

Fact: This did not happen in the Diocese of Augsburg at all. There was no interview with Bishop Mixa and there was no protocol, which would have been undersigned by the participants.

If the victim was approached, may be doubted, for the directives of the GCB states further: "The welfare of the Church goes first to the victim. The defense of the victim from further abuse or public release of information is to be especially avoided. There is also a responsibility for the welfare of the accused. He remains until proven otherwise, innocent. If it is found that the suspicion is groundless, the necessary steps will be taken to restore the good reputation of the person." Presently, there hasn't been any apology to Bishop Walter Mixa.

If one looks exactly at the directives of the GBC and the incidents in the Diocese in conjunction with the alleged victim, then it is clear, that the suppositions of the Diocese of Augsburg could not stand.

On the 16th of June a communication was made by the Diocese: "Those responsible in the Diocese have followed what is just and necessary and appropriate to the directives of the German Bishops Conference and the Freisinger Bishops Conference. The Diocese of Augsburg expressly denies that it had made public any accusations of abuse.

Otherwise the prosecuting attorney's initial inquest was not known at the of Bishop Emeritus Walter Mixa of the Diocese of Augsburg's signing of his resignation."

This supposition is in any event in complete contradiction to the kath.net copy of the original act of the State Prosecuting Attorney. From him it was clear, that the Diocese even previously must have known of the alleged abuse case.

In the kath.net memo concerned, by Augsburger Pastoral Assistant F., who advocated as a "representative for possible victims of sexual and physical violence", said elsewhere: "On March 25 2010 I have spoken about the case with Mr. Heinrich [Responsible Party for Abuse in the Diocese!]. Bishop Mixa had incidentally signed his resignation on 21 April 2010.

Even a Church critic like Alan Posener had stated in Cicero, that Mixa is being treated unjustly. Posener maintains, that Mixa has the same rights as every other Citizen has. "That belongs to his personal rights, which follow, that the worth of a man is unassailable." Fact: The actual "Acta Mixa" is not closed.

Slovenian and Austrian Bishop's Conference Meet to Discuss Sex Abuse

[Vienna] The theme of abuse will be at the center of the discussions of the Austrian Bishops' Conference which will meet at Mariazell Abbey for their summer meeting. On the table there's a comprehensive introductory document which will be discussed, which is the work of around 300 experts [Yikes] which project group is overseen by the Viennese Generalvikar Mosgr Franz Schuster, according to the media representative of the Episcopal Conference, Paul Wuthe. In its highlights the paper establishes clear guildlines for all ecclesiastical workers including orders for the prevention of sexual abuse and violence. "The goal is an Austria-wide standardization of procedures and with that, clarity", said Wuthe.

The proposals will include the establishment of a Church Ombundman and a reinforced collaboration of all ecclesiastical and state organizations with sexual abuse and violence.

A chief role in connection with the last months of well known cases of violence and abuse is played by the Independent Victim's Attorney Waltrud Klasnic and the Independent Victim's Defense Commission. From this basis Waltrud Klasnic will report on the developments in this area, according to Wuthe.

It is also the first time that the Bishops' Conference of Slovenia will meet with that of Austria. Cardinal Schoenborn and Archbishop Anton Stres (Laibach) are meeting on the 23rd of June at 1:00pm in the Abbot's Council at the Abbey of Mariazell, in order to hold a press conference. Shortly before there will be a photo oprrotunity for all participating Bishops in front of the Basilica.

Archbishop Anton Stres of Laibach, Slovenia, will preside over the Mass and preach the sermon.

Can You Sue the Vatican?

The obedience that American Bishops have given the Catholic Church has been fairly tenuous to downright rebellious historically speaking.

Catholic and Pro-life Judge Andrew Napolitano doesn't think it's a meritorious case, either.

[Fox News]The sex abuse crisis in the Catholic Church has triggered an interesting legal question: can you put the Vatican on trial in the United States?

Lawyers for victims in Louisville, Kentucky are trying to do just that. But the Vatican is shooting right back, filing defense motions today arguing that bishops based in the U.S. – who have direct responsibility for their priests – are not “employees” of the Vatican.

I spoke Judge Andrew Napolitano, Senior Judicial Analyst for Fox News Channel, and he told me there’s no evidence that American bishops are agents of the Vatican with respect to personnel matters.

Fallout Grows in ex-Minneapolis Cop's Molestation Case

Of course, if you can't count on those who've been deceiving the world for years about their status as Catholic religious to tell the truth, you can't count on these individuals at a prestigious, Waspy, Minneapolis Preparatory school to tell the truth either. The corruption of the best is indeed the worst, but the society at large must also suffer for this loss of innocence.

What is often portrayed as a problem exclusive to the Catholic Church is actually a problem of an increasingly barbaric and decadent West.

This may make it more difficult for Jeff Anderson to portray the Catholic Church as a monster for his ACLU and Socialist friends.

Attorney says Breck School knew Bill Jacobs had history of molesting boys. Former official denies it.

[Minneapolis Star] The lawyer who last month sued the Vatican and Pope Benedict for their handling of sexual abuse allegations within the church turned his attention Monday to a case that involves one of the state's most prestigious private schools.

Attorney Jeff Anderson, in a lawsuit filed in Hennepin County, said officials at Breck School committed fraud by hiring teacher Bill Jacobs in 1973, knowing he had a history of molesting boys and was considered a danger to children.

Jacobs sexually abused a 13-year-old Breck student in 1974, according to Anderson. The suit maintains that Littleford "begged'' the boy and his father to remain quiet about the matter.
